From Line to Likeness

Line to Likeness is a rewarding 8 week course that serves as a natural extension of The Absolute Beginner, building upon the foundational skills developed in the earlier program while guiding students further along their artistic journey. Designed for those who are ready to deepen their understanding and refine their abilities, this course bridges the gap between learning the fundamentals of drawing and creating artwork with greater confidence, accuracy, and personal expression.

Through a series of engaging, step-by-step lessons and guided exercises, students will strengthen their observational skills and gain a deeper understanding of proportion, form, light, shadow, and tonal value. As their confidence grows, they will learn how to transform simple lines and shapes into convincing three-dimensional forms and realistic representations. The course encourages students to move beyond merely copying what they see and begin understanding the principles that give drawings life, structure, and authenticity.

More than simply learning to draw realistically, Line to Likeness continues the creative journey toward artistic freedom. As technical skills become more familiar and intuitive, students gain the confidence to make creative choices with greater ease and purpose. By the end of the course, each student will have completed a finished realistic artwork while developing a stronger artistic eye, a deeper understanding of the drawing process, and the confidence to continue exploring and expanding their creative potential long after the course has concluded.
